VSE Prof. Emeritus to serve as expert panelist on Canadian workplace issues



VSE Prof. Emeritus Craig Riddell has agreed to serve on an independent expert panel to study workplace issues in Canada, the federal government announced today.

Riddell’s expertise is in labour economics, labour relations and public policy. He is one of six appointees to The Expert Panel on Modern Federal Labour Standards, tasked with studying five issues: federal minimum wage, labour standards protections for non-standard workers, disconnecting from work-related e-communications outside of work hours, access and portability of benefits, and collective voice for non-unionized workers.

The panel will provide their advice to the Honourable Patty Hajdu, Minister of Employment, Workforce Development, and Labour, on June 30, 2019.
