VSE Prof. Emerita Margaret Slade has been named a Distinguished Fellow by the American Economic Association.
The AEA said Slade “has distinguished herself conducting applied research on markets and firms” and is being recognized “for all her important and original work”.
She is one of five new fellows for 2019 and is the sole woman appointee. She is also the only fellow from a Canadian university this year, and one of very few Canadian-based academics, alongside UBC’s Erwin Diewert, to be named a fellow in the association’s history.
