The Vancouver School of Economics Undergraduate Society (VSEUS) has been officially approved by the Alma Mater Society of UBC. The new Society, which is an evolution of the former Economics Students Association, marks a milestone for economics students at UBC as it means they will now be represented at the AMS Council level.
The VSEUS represents Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of International Economics students enrolled in the Vancouver School of Economics. Their mission is to support student initiatives within the School, and to represent and express the interest of economics students to the governing bodies within UBC. Additionally, the Society hosts many social and professional development activities for members including career fairs, conferences, and social events.
“This is a result that has been in the making for fourteen months. We worked tirelessly to make sure our voices are heard, so that we can create our very own undergraduate society. We managed to do just that and couldn’t be prouder,” says Viet Vu, VSEUS President. “The executives want to thank all of our fellow economics students for supporting us through this unique journey.”
From the faculty and staff of the VSE, congratulations to the VSEUS on reaching this milestone!
